In December 2014, the Los Angeles Conservancy nominated the 1950s coffee shop Norms, on La Cienega Boulevard, as a Historic-Cultural Monument (HCM). One month later, Norms’ new owner filed for and received a building-demolition permit from the city of L.A., and a preservation battle was underway.

In 2015, Dwell on Design New York will move into Skylight Clarkson Sq in SoHo.
