Rose Tourje is a native to Southern California and is the founder and president of ANEW. Building a 25-year career as a leading commercial interior designer, manager and strategist, she flourished at prestigious architectural firms in Los Angeles and as Vice President, Corporate Real Estate at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank.
In 2005 Tourje founded ANEW, a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving surplus liquidation practices by directing good, useable furniture and materials otherwise bound for landfill, to strengthen communities by matching it to meet the needs of local charities. ANEW brings together economic, social and environmental aspects to balance the design process. This approach informs companies, CRE managers and others regarding the necessity to build strong CSR platforms that encourage social wellbeing and environmental awareness. To date ANEW has diverted over 10 million pounds of surplus from landfill, serving over 600 organizations in 13 countries.
In addition to helming ANEW, Tourje is a sought-after speaker and educator, collaborating with professional organizations such as the Merchandise Mart for NEOCON, CoreNET Global, IFMA, Dwell on Design, and as guest lecturer at FIDM, CSULB - IDSA, the USC Marshall School of Business, Kendall College of Design and others. She will tell you it's about 'doing' and her tag line, "doing what's right with what's left" sums up how ANEW leads the way, encouraging professionals and clients to incorporate the alternative practices of ANEW that provide connectivity between client, community and environment.
