Ahead of the AIA/LA Restaurant Design Awards on Saturday, the finalists will appear together onstage to present slides of their restaurant designs and explain their influences, motivations, and processes. Attendees will hear not only from the visionaries behind these exciting new spaces, but from the three judges as well: George Kelly, president and principal architect of Kelly Architects; Warner Ebbink, the restaurateur behind the acclaimed and revamped Tom Bergin’s and Dominick’s; and Margot Dougherty, copywriter at One Kings Lane and former restaurant guide editor. The judges will talk about what caught their eyes on each project and invite discussion about present and future restaurant design trends and inspirations. This hour-long presentation is eligible for 1.0 AIA learning units.
