Hsu McCullough designed a contemporary, two story infill addition that bridges the detached garage of the rear yard to the existing vintage home, adding a Great Room (open kitchen/dining/den), elevated outdoor Family Room deck (2nd floor) and Master Suite for a growing family.
Jennifer Farrell transformed a 1950s eyesore on the Los Angeles hillside into Diablo Ranch: a modern farmhouse retreat in the heart of the city. The Rear Window house is a discreet yet decidely modern addition+remodel to a seventy-year-old bungalow in an area full of intact dwellings of the same era. The owner’s growing family necessitated extending the master suite into the backyard, which culminates in an expansive rear bedroom window that hovers above a pool of water.
This home is a SFR that was redesigned to fit its growing family of five. It's original aesthetic of a spanish bungalow was mixed with a warm and inviting modern mix and mash of first and second stories.
